SFRY: Yugoslavia Through Architecture is a self directed piece I am currently working on. It is a collection of the most iconic (and not so iconic) pieces of architecture throughout the 6 former states of Yugoslavia, between the establishment of SFRY (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) after WWII and the fall of Yugoslavia in the early 90s. Alongside an architectural narrative the book also features an economic and political narrative. It is also a celebration of the Socialist Brutalism and the hidden beauties of a form of architecture which is widely regarded as aesthetically unappealing.
As I am writing the piece I aim to have the design develop with it and use this web platform to document the evolvement of the design.
