A new identity for a 17th century Irish country estate. Doneraile Estate was owned by the St.Ledger family until it was first passed on to the Irish Georgian Society and then the government body OPW. While the grounds and parks have been accessible to the public for the last few years, in the summer of 2019 the house will open it's doors to the public for the first time.
Our clients wanted something modern and out of the ordinary, to draw in a sophisticated and culture orientated audeince, but still connected to the Estate and the house. My solution was to pull patterns out of the windows and the architecture and create a series of circular illustrations. The typeface is smilar to the sharp Georgian era serifs, as the house itself is of the Georgian era, but with an even sharper modern twist. It is paired with a mono spaced typeface to bring a modern edge to the identity.
